JAWUG

NodeDB is basically dead in the water these days... We have not used it for a couple of years at least, and found, that after they upgraded, and added Google Earth functionaly, things went rapidly downhill.

As a result of the demise of NodeDB, we decided to create our own tool, and Xarion spent many sleepless nights developing what we proudly refer to as the WugPlotter. This tool allows you to plot your location (also by using GPS co-ordinates which you can find by logging into Google Earth, and adding a placemark at your location) and it then allows you to download, and view the locations off all of the users in your vicinity.

So don't waste any more time - come and register an account at http://www.wug.za.net and then we can start the ball rolling!

Outdated, but left here just in case:

NodeDB is currently where people interested in JAWUG, go to register their interest in the network. Even if you don't currently have any equipment, or technical knowledge about WirelessNetworks, go and register. Someone might just be interested enough in linking with you to get the network to grow. Help is always available and free, just ask around...

Here is a more blatant link to the NodeDB http://www.nodedb.com/africa/za/johannesburg/

You can download the Radio Mobile .NET file from here generated on 15-08-2005. JAWUG.NET The naming scheme I used was NodeID then name, I might redo it with just names, but it alot of work, seeing as every node has to be entered manually.

For fun I converted the net into a Google Earth point set. Cleaned up a lot of the duplicates too. Google Pointset Update! cap.gif The file upload seems to now work! The link should give you the google earth pointset for the whole of SA. Enjoy!
