With all the services we want to test and play with, you do sometimes require servers and these servers need to be upgraded and maintained.
This group will be responsible for exactly this. Keep IRCd running, ensure the DNS service and other services are running.
New and exciting activities would include the setup and administration of ESXi servers and VM's inside them. Play with HA (high availability) clusters and move server between physical machines on-the-fly!
NetOps WG
IRC channel: #jawugnetops
The Network Operations working group in responsible for running networking aspects of the WUG.

Basic rundown of this group
This group will be responsible for discussing and testing of various routing methods and protocols within the JAWUG network. Typical network protocols include, but are not limited to:
- BGP (iBGP and eBGP)
- OSPF
- MPLS
- BGP VPLS
and so forth.
The point really is to learn how all this works, sometimes together, and to find better ways to help improve network reliability and optimise throughput.
