This is my new sector. It now provides local access (downstairs and upstairs) aswell as covering 80 degrees West of Sunninghill (Paulshof & Lonehill) should get very good signal coverage. Runs on a WRT54G with OpenWrt Black Russian.

Below is the current link to LSD. The grid is a 24db Hyperlink connected to a Senao 2511CB3 access point in client mode. Personally these are my favourite devices for long-haul links since they have very good 802.11b cards. They can be put into both AP mode and client bridge mode. They are very simple devices and just do what they were designed for. Link speeds average around 500Kb/s and distance is around 4Km.
Grid and Patch Antenna
This is what's inside the box. There is a Senao 2511CB3+ client mode to LSD. TheWRT54G is running OpenWrt blackrussian. The WRT54 is a firewall using this setup Linksyshacking. The Senao is connected to the LAN port, and my internal network is connected to the WAN port and the firewall script is turned around to protect my LAN. The cream box that you see is a Power Over Ethernet "Un-Enjector" that I bought from Miro. You use a pair of them, one to inject and another to "un-enject" the 12v out the 5mm jack plug. The Senao supports POE, but I just used a splitter out the injector to give it and the WRT54G power.
Inside the Box
This is what the grid is looking at, you will see a little koppie in the distance. LSD is somewhere around that area.
